Kidney Companions
LOGO + MARKETING FOR A LOCAL NONPROFIT
For this creative project, I teamed up with my friend Shelley at Current 120. Shelly manages her own Squarespace website design business and specializes in one-week websites. Shelley and I connected through a friend in the industry and hit it off in Olive & Evergreen’s early days. When she asked me to partner on this project, it was a definite YES!
Kidney Companions is a nonprofit based in Traverse City, MI that connects people to help increase access to kidney transplants in Northern Michigan. Kidney Companions helps connect “volunteers who will provide the social support needed for individual patients seeking kidney transplant.”
Current 120 previously built the Kidney Companions website in order to launch the organization and get started. As it’s grown, so has the need for an official logo and marketing materials.
For this project, Olive & Evergreen designed their new logo to be used on their website and on new materials. I created mock-ups of items to show how they could implement their new brand on materials for volunteers, patients and supporters. This helped the client envision their logo in real-time and I believe it made the decision-making process easy for them. The feedback after the initial three concepts were presented also proved the ease of the process. In addition to the logo, I also designed badges to be used as stickers for the volunteer ‘kidney companions.’
